Construction Update


 

Marydale Park will be located on a 35 acre piece of property on Hamilton’s South Mountain, adjacent to the Binbrook Conservation Area, along the eastern shore of Lake Niapenco.  The Park’s main entrance is located at Nebo Road and Chippewa Road.

Planning & Construction Update:

 

  • The archaeological assessment of the site has been completed.

 

  • An architect has prepared detailed building plans and elevations that convey a unique rural theme for the new facility.

 

  • The site plan application has been approved by the City of Hamilton.

 

  • A reciprocal land use agreement is being finalized with the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority to facilitate on-going access and joint uses.

 

  • Construction of the 1-kilometre access road from Chippewa Road and Nebo Road to the park’s main entrance (service grade) is complete.

 

  • Preliminary grading of the park’s 35 acres began in June 2010.

 

  • Construction of the park’s administration building, pool change house faculties and the 9 x 25 metre recreational pool and hydrotherapy pool is underway.
