Ontario’s First Barrier-Free Park

Every child deserves to play! Children of all abilities will soon be able to enjoy barrier-free, outdoor recreation in Hamilton, thanks to the new Marydale Park.

People of any age or ability, including those who use wheelchairs, scooters or walkers, will be able to fully and independently enjoy the playing fields, trails, pools, boating, fishing, and much, much more!

In addition to being barrier-free, Marydale Park will have an eco-friendly design. The park will be powered by natural, renewable energy through wind, solar and geothermal resources.

The park will soon be under development on Hamilton's south mountain, adjacent to the Binbrook Conservation Area, and is scheduled to open in summer 2011.
